The largest climbing parks in Austria

Where you find the most courses, the most stations and the longest climbing routes - an overview of the big sites from Groebming to the Montafon.

"Large" does not mean the same thing everywhere. Some operators count courses, others individual stations, others the total length of the route. If you are planning a full day, look at all three - and at how many courses sit in the harder grades.

Abenteuerpark Gröbming, Styria

The country's biggest site: 22 courses, around 200 stations and more than 2,000 metres of climbing. Add the 800-metre flying coaster and, further up the mountain, the 2.5-kilometre zip line from the Stoderzinken.

Kletterpark Schlossberg Lienz, East Tyrol

18 courses with roughly 200 elements, up to 20 metres high - by number of exercises one of the most varied high ropes courses in Austria. Children climb here from the age of two, while the black courses challenge experienced adults.

Adventurepark Gerlitzen, Carinthia

Carinthia's largest forest high ropes course: over 160 stations, 31 flying foxes and a ten-metre base jump. Five courses are graded blue and open to children from three.

Waldseilpark Golm, Vorarlberg

With 17 courses the largest site in Vorarlberg, on the Golm adventure mountain in the Montafon - easy to combine with the cable car and a hike.

Kletterwald Hornpark, Tyrol

The largest high ropes course in the Kitzbühel Alps: over 11 courses and more than 106 elements, right at the mid-station of the Harschbichl lift.
