Outdoorparc Lungau: side by side across the lake

In summer the Mauterndorf ski school runs the Outdoorparc Lungau, and Irene de Jong sent us three pictures. They show what a photo explains better than any text: the course stands on the water.

The Double Fly

Everyone knows a zipline. A parallel zipline, on which two people ride 170 metres side by side, is something else: you see the other person's face instead of hearing about it later. The Double Fly is part of a flying-fox circuit of over 850 metres with more than ten stations – and the second picture shows one of them straight across the Nessiteich.

You only pay for what goes up

That is the peculiarity of this site: a climbing rock of over 100 square metres, a climbing pyramid, a low ropes course and a street-soccer pitch cost nothing. Only those who want to go up on a belay pay. For a family whose little ones are not yet allowed on the flying fox – under 140 cm or under 14 only accompanied – it is an afternoon that still works.

Add the Waterparc on the same pond: canoe, kayak, pedalo, stand-up paddling and zorbing balls for children. The third photo shows the view across the water to the Lungau mountains without a single rope in the frame – that is the spot where you wait until the others are back down.

In the main season from early July to early September it is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm, in spring and autumn only on individual afternoons.
