Kronberg Zipline-Park

Rope park at the valley station of the Kronberg cable car in Jakobsbad with five routes, 55 climbing elements and 25 zip lines totalling 1,210 metres.
What makes Kronberg Zipline-Park special
The park belongs to the Kronberg cable car in Jakobsbad, in the municipality of Gonten in the Appenzell region. The Jakobsbad stop of the Appenzell Railways is right beside the valley station; parking is charged. The bobsleigh run, the fairy-tale world and the valley restaurant are next door.
The name says it all: of the 1,644 metres of route, 1,210 metres are zip line. Five routes from easy to demanding hold 55 climbing elements and 25 zip lines; the longest free flight is 107 metres and the highest point is eleven metres above the ground.
You pay for time, not routes: there are tickets for 60 and for 120 minutes, each including instruction. The operator recommends booking online, as otherwise there can be long waits. Last admission is one hour before closing, and closed shoes are compulsory.
The season is unusually long: from July to mid-October it is open daily, in late autumn at weekends and on weekdays for groups. In winter the zip-line park opens at weekends when conditions allow – in autumn and winter only in fine weather.
