What makes Pilatus Seilpark special
The park sits on the Fräkmüntegg at 1,416 metres, at the middle station of the panorama gondola from Kriens up Pilatus. The ride from Kriens takes about 30 minutes; on foot it is roughly three hours. The lift ticket is not included in the admission.
Ten courses with around 100 elements lead through the mountain forest. Everyone starts on the compulsory Drachen-Ei course, between 1.5 and 3.4 metres off the ground. From there the demands rise: Mons Fractus, Flying Dragon and Drachen-Jäger require 130 cm, Höhenrausch, Dragonibus and Draconita 140 cm. Pilatus-Bahnen AG itself describes Dragon-Fire, for ages 14 and up and from 150 cm, as probably the most difficult course in Central Switzerland.
Safety works on the self-belay principle: you move your carabiners yourself after a thorough briefing. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult, children aged 11 to 14 supervised by one. Visits are limited to three hours.
For the little ones, the Pilu rope park on the same site has two courses with a continuous belay that never needs to be unclipped – meant for children aged 4 to 7, lasting one hour. The Fräkmüntegg also has the Dragon Glider, a treetop walk, the Fräkigaudi toboggan run and Tree Tents for a night up in the trees.
