Seilpark Balmberg
Balm bei Günsberg (Balmberg) · Solothurn · from age 4
Rope park on the Balmberg in the Solothurn Jura with 12 courses, 242 platforms, heights up to 20 metres and zip lines up to 174 metres long.
What makes Seilpark Balmberg special
The park is on the Oberbalmberg above Günsberg, near the Weissenstein. The PostBus runs up from Solothurn main station via Günsberg, and there is paid parking at the park. The operator has run it for almost 20 years.
Twelve courses on 242 platforms, for up to 230 people at once: three purple kids' courses, two yellow beginner courses up to about 5 metres, three green ones up to 10 metres (Green 3 ends with a slide), two blue, a red one up to 15 metres and a black one with 20 obstacles at 20 metres. The longest zip line is 174 metres, another runs 100 metres across the car park; from Blue 1 and Red you reach the "free fall".
Safety is provided by Clic-it, a carabiner system that only lets one carabiner open at a time. Staff clip children aged 4 to 7 in at the start of their course, after which they stay attached to the end. The operator enforces the age limits strictly and may ask for ID for children aged 7 or 8.
Important for 2026: a storm on 28 August brought down 35 trees and damaged 41 obstacles. The park has been open again since 19 September, but the two blue courses remain closed and the red one is only half open, probably until the end of the season. Climbing time is limited to three hours; the operator prefers cash but also takes cards and Twint.
