Seilpark Braunwald

Braunwald (Grotzenbüel) · Glarus · from age 4

Rope park on the Grotzenbüel above Braunwald with four courses up to 13 metres high, zip lines up to 110 metres long and two children's courses from age 4.

What makes Seilpark Braunwald special

The rope park sits on the Grotzenbüel above Braunwald in the Glarus Alps. Getting there is part of the outing: the funicular from Linthal up to Braunwald, a ten-to-fifteen-minute walk to the Hüttenberg station and the gondola up to the Grotzenbüel. Equipment is issued on the wooden terrace on the left.

Four clearly graded courses: course 1, with suspension bridges, tubes and three zip lines, is the starter from age four, and course 2, up to seven metres, is also from four. The blue course 3 is the highest and hardest at up to 13 metres, while the red course 4 is almost all zip line – five of them totalling 300 metres, the longest 110 metres. There are 39 platforms in all.

You stay clipped in: you connect once and then climb through without re-clipping. The buddy principle still applies: at least two people must always be on a course at the same time, and minors need written consent from a parent.

Lift extra, weather decisive: admission includes equipment and an instruction of about 15 minutes, but no lift ride. In rain, wind or thunderstorms the park can close at any time; bringing gloves is recommended.
