Fun Forest Kandel: seven hectares of Bienwald

23 courses, over 200 trees, 17,000 metres of steel cable – the operator calls it the largest climbing park in the region. Five pictures from the press kit show how much space that is.

Till Remmlinger of Fun Forest pointed us to the park's press kit, and from it we took five pictures for Fun Forest Abenteuerpark Kandel. The first shows the entrance with the colourful lettering between the trees; it is also what you see on arrival.

Size is the argument

Seven hectares of Bienwald, over 200 trees, around 17,000 metres of steel cable, 23 courses. The operator calls it the largest climbing park in the region, and the numbers do not contradict him. In most forest ropes parks in the directory you have seen everything after two hours; here an afternoon is not enough for all the courses.

The children's course is a ticket of its own

From three years, from 12.90 €. It sounds like a detail but is the fair solution: anyone coming with small children does not pay for the 14 courses they may not enter anyway. Courses 1 to 14 start at seven.

What to know beforehand

Nothing works without booking ahead. Tickets are in the web shop; turning up spontaneously does not work here. And the pro courses 15 and 16 cannot be pre-booked at all – they cost a surcharge from 6 € and are added on site if there is room. Anyone who wants to be sure of climbing them should arrive early.

The season ends on 1 November 2026. During the school holidays the park follows Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg – the two states' autumn holidays have different closing times.
