Kletterpark Wartmannstetten: from 90 centimetres to the black course
Ten courses cover a range that makes the difference for families with an age gap – from the fairy-tale course at three to the 25-metre panorama zipline, adults only.
The problem for many families at a climbing park is not the course but the age gap: the three-year-old is not allowed up anywhere, the fourteen-year-old is bored in the children's area. Kletterpark Wartmannstetten near Neunkirchen is one of the facilities that covers both ends.
Ten courses graded by height
The grading is unusually fine: 90 cm for the two toddlers' courses with farm and fairy-tale themes (from three), 100 cm green, 110 cm the Bergerl course, 120 cm blue, 130 cm red with a chairlift element of its own, 140 cm black – released from 15 and demanding stamina. In between lie a warm-up course and a family course with a "galaxy tunnel".
Under eleven an accompanying adult climbs along actively; from eleven to 14 supervision from the ground is enough for at most three children.
The highest zipline in eastern Austria
The showpiece is the panorama zipline at 25 metres – according to the operator the highest zipline in the east of Austria, adults only. Add two more flying foxes and the "Bacherl Fox" with five quick flights in a row.
One ticket for everything
Helmet, harness, briefing and access to all unlocked courses are included: depending on the extent, between 18.50 € and 31.50 €, and there are season passes too. Open from late March to late October, Fridays from 1 pm and weekends from 10 am; in July and August Wednesday to Sunday.
