Kletterwald Borken: open on a Tuesday in June

Most forest ropes parks in Germany open on weekdays only during the school holidays. Kletterwald Borken in the Münsterland is open daily from 10 am to 7 pm, from April to early November. Anyone with a free Tuesday in June will find it open – in the whole directory it is one of the few facilities without a weekend restriction.

3.5 hours, briefings every half hour

Climbing time is 3.5 hours, more than the three hours that are the standard elsewhere. And the briefing starts every half and full hour – no waiting for a fixed slot, you come when it suits.

The toddlers' course costs 8 €

And the accompanying adult on the ground pays nothing. For the rest: 26 € for adults, 19 € for teenagers from 13 to 17, 16 € for children up to twelve. Up to and including ten an adult has to climb along, at most three children per adult; at eleven and twelve supervision from the ground is enough. Annual passes cost 195, 165 and 125 €.

More than a day out

Besides open climbing there is a well-developed group programme: outdoor education, school and study trips, team events, outdoor training, workplace health promotion – with its own seminar room on the grounds. For schools and companies that is why individual days in spring and autumn are reserved for groups. The calendar on the operator's website shows day by day when it is open.
