Kletterwald Regensburg: fifteen courses, four age levels

The older you are, the more of the forest you get: at Kletterwald Regensburg three courses are open from age four, all fifteen from 16. Plus escape games on the forest floor and a new picture from the beech woods.

Elena Lierck of Kletterwald Regensburg has sent us a picture from the forest – and read our entry while she was at it. It sounded as if every age level added more courses, until you ended up with far more than fifteen. That was wrong, and it is now right.

One forest, four levels

In total the park in Sinzing has fifteen courses with 126 elements. How many of them are open depends on age:

  • from 4: 3 courses, 19 elements, 0.5 to 2 metres
  • from 6: 8 courses, 70 elements, up to 8 metres
  • from 13: 12 courses, 107 elements, up to 20 metres
  • from 16: all 15 courses, 126 elements, up to 23 metres

Arriving with mixed age groups, you know in advance who gets where. 23 metres is the greatest height among all the Bavarian sites in the directory. The photo shows what that looks like: platforms stacked on a single trunk, wooden beams and ropes reaching up into the leaves.

Puzzles on the ground

Not everyone in the group has to climb. The park offers three outdoor escape games, 60 minutes each, played on the forest floor by teams of three to six, from age eight or 13 depending on the game, for 99 € per group. For children's birthdays there are packages for every age, from 79 € for the youngest.

Weekends only for now

Outside the school holidays it opens Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, in October until 5 pm. The winter break starts on 2 November. The cheapest ticket, the Bambini ticket for four- and five-year-olds, costs 14.50 €.
