Seilpark Baschweri: climbing at almost 2,000 metres above the Rhône valley
Six courses, a 200-metre zip line and a kids' course from age four on the car-free Bettmeralp. Aletsch Bahnen sent us five pictures.

Our request first went to Aletsch Arena, which passed it on to Aletsch Bahnen – and that is where the answer came from: Elisa Germanier (Communication & Products, Aletsch Bahnen AG) sent us five photos of Seilpark Baschweri, four of them by photographer Raphael Wernli. The entry now shows the mountain forest instead of the neutral drawing. Thank you very much!
A rope park you reach by cable car
The park lies in the Baschweri area on the Bettmeralp, a car-free resort above the Rhône valley that you reach by aerial cableway. At almost 2,000 metres above sea level, Aletsch Arena describes it as the highest rope park in Switzerland. It is run by Aletsch Bahnen AG.
What the pictures show
The cover photo was taken from the tall grass: a little girl with a pink helmet and green gloves glides over the mountain meadow on a low zip line. In another photo two children with helmets cross platforms and a bridge of wooden slats between the trunks; in a third, a girl looks into the camera through a wooden tube.
One picture shows a climber with an orange helmet working his way across free-hanging wooden boards with hand holes, high up among the larches. And one shows where it all begins: in front of the wooden hut marked "Info-Kasse Seilpark", a boy's safety line is adjusted on his harness while the next children are already waiting behind him.
Six courses and a long zip line
The six courses vary in difficulty, and there is also a 200-metre zip line. Children from age four have their own kids' course, up to 135 cm and 40 kg.
Adults aged 18 and over pay CHF 33, children and teenagers up to 17 CHF 26, and the kids' course costs CHF 15. Families get several discount levels starting from one adult and one child, and groups of ten or more receive 20 % off. The mountain railway ride is not included.
The season is short: the park opens at the end of June and closes in mid-October, but then daily from 9.30 am to 5 pm, with last entry at 3 pm. Whether it is open on a given day is shown in Aletsch Arena's status report – at this altitude the weather has its say.
You will find more facilities in the area under Valais.
