Seilpark Engelberg: six lines in the forest and a fire to finish
Six lines over bridges, Nepal bridges and zip lines, plus a kids' course from age 4. Seilpark Engelberg sent us four pictures – one of them by the fire.

Leana Barmettler, head of administration at Seilpark Engelberg, sent us four photos from the park. They show lush green, happy faces and, at the end, a fire. The entry now shows these pictures instead of the neutral drawing – thank you very much!
In the forest on Wasserfallstrasse
The cover photo is taken from below: a climber in a white helmet glides on a pulley along a steel cable, with nothing but leaves above her. The park lies in the forest on Wasserfallstrasse, three minutes from the Fürenalp cable car car park. From Engelberg station the free local bus runs to the Fürenalpbahn stop; on foot it takes 45 to 60 minutes from the village.
Six lines and a kids' course
Six lines of different difficulty lead from tree to tree over bridges, Nepal bridges and zip lines. One picture is taken from above: a boy steps across a bridge of hanging wooden pegs, a path winds through the forest far below him, and further back other children are out on platforms. In another a boy in a turquoise helmet and gloves looks into the camera.
The lines are open from age 8 and 130 cm; children aged 8 to 11 climb with an adult, children aged 11 to 14 under supervision. The belay system is CLiC-iT, which always keeps one karabiner locked. On the kids' course with three routes, children from 4 and 1 m clip in once with the Saferoller, which keeps them belayed all the way to the end.
Fire bowls under the trees
The fourth picture shows the quiet side of the forest. In the foreground a fire burns in an iron bowl, a second one burns further back, and people sit together at wooden tables. In the background you can see platforms and a bridge between the trunks.
Prices and season
Adults pay CHF 43, young people up to 18 from 130 cm CHF 38, each for three hours on lines 1 to 6. The kids' course costs CHF 22. If it is your birthday, you climb free that day with ID. If you want to complete all the courses, arrive by 4 pm. Until the end of October the park is still open at weekends, from 10 am to 6 pm.
You will find more facilities in the area under Obwalden.
