Waldseilpark Kahlenberg: climbing with a view of the transmitter
The largest ropes course in eastern Austria lies inside the Vienna city limits. Five new pictures from Erlebniswelt Kahlenberg show the Vienna Woods, the flying fox and the meadow below the mast.

Gottfried Fragner of the MAGMAG Group, which runs Erlebniswelt Kahlenberg, has sent us five pictures of Waldseilpark Kahlenberg. For the first time the directory shows what makes the park: it stands in the middle of the Vienna Woods – and still in Vienna.
Vienna Woods instead of suburbs
The first picture shows a course between tall beeches, rope bridges and hanging elements on several levels, with a forest path below. 15 courses in three levels of difficulty with around 150 exercises stand here, some of them 20 metres up in the trees. For a family without a car that is the deciding point: no other park of this size is reached as quickly by public transport from an Austrian city.
Flying fox across the meadow
Two pictures show the ziplines. In one someone rides between pines, in the other right across the big meadow – and in the background stands the Kahlenberg transmitter mast. Anyone who knows Vienna can tell at once where the photo was taken.
Tall enough is old enough
There is no minimum age at Kahlenberg. The price follows body height: from 110 cm 16 €, from 130 cm 20 €, from 150 cm 29 €, from age 18 37 €. Under 14, an adult climbs along. The picture of the child in the wooden tunnel shows what that looks like when you are small and up there anyway.
Remarkable is the climbing time of four hours, briefing and waiting included – most parks give two or three. The park operates from early March to 26 October.
The photos come from the operator; the credit reads "© Erlebniswelt_Kahlenberg".
