What makes Waldseilpark Kahlenberg special

Eastern Austria's largest climbing park lies inside the Vienna city boundary, on the Kahlenberg just before the Klosterneuburg village sign. For a family without a car that is the decisive point: no other park of this size is so quickly reachable from an Austrian city.

15 courses in three levels of difficulty with around 150 exercises, rope bridges, wobbly nets and flying foxes, in part 20 metres up in the trees.

The price grading follows not age but body height: from 110 cm 16 €, from 130 cm 20 €, from 150 cm 29 €, from age 18 37 €. There is no minimum age – whoever is tall enough may climb. Under 14 an adult climbs along, at 14 and 15 on your own with parental consent.

Notable is the four hours of climbing time, briefing and waiting included. Most parks give two or three. Each further half hour costs 5 €.

Anyone unable to provide an accompanying adult books a guide at 75 € per hour.

Operation runs from early March to 26 October. Sturdy footwear is mandatory.
