discOWer Seilpark Melchsee-Frutt

Melchtal / Stöckalp · Obwalden · from age 4

Rope park in mountain forest at 1,080 metres right by the Stöckalp valley station: seven courses, two 100-metre zip lines over the Cheselenbach, a 12-metre pendulum jump and a kids' park from age four.

What makes discOWer Seilpark Melchsee-Frutt special

The park sits in mountain forest at 1,080 metres right next to the Stöckalp valley station of the lift up to Melchsee-Frutt, three minutes' walk from the PostBus stop. Parking is free. The operator calls it the most mindful rope park in Switzerland; in 2026 it marks ten years since construction began.

Seven courses with around 60 platforms range from very easy to very hard. Even the easiest, Rägämettel, crosses the Cheselenbach on two 100-metre zip lines. Haiwgumpär climbs to 16 metres for the 12-metre pendulum jump, and Muigg runs for 240 metres at 4.4 to 13.8 metres up. A 33-metre suspension bridge with a gathering platform is open to everyone.

The rules are clear: you always climb in pairs at least. Children aged 6 to 9 go on the courses with an adult, ideally no more than two children per adult. Children aged 10 to 13 are accompanied or supervised from the ground. The belay system prevents accidental unclipping.

The Pfideripark, with three courses up to 10 metres high, is in a separate spot, so anyone with children in both parks at once needs at least two adults. There is also a kiosk and a large covered barbecue area. Tickets are sold on site only; families and small groups usually don't need to book.
