What makes Kletterwald Marburg special
The site lies at the edge of an old oak forest by the Dammühle north of Marburg. The operator points to reviews that regularly rank it among the finest in Germany.
Thirteen courses run from practice and children's rounds at 1.2 metres to the Mount Everest course, which climbs into the canopy at 17 metres.
Three and a half hours of climbing time come with the ticket, including a 20-minute briefing. That is more than the usual three hours.
The supervision rule is finely graded and makes a practical difference: from six to nine an adult must go up too, but supervises three children. For ten- and eleven-year-olds supervision from the ground is enough — and then one person may watch up to six children. For birthday parties and groups that adds up.
Companions who do not climb are free and need not be booked.

For children: The children's course is open from four. Children aged six to nine must be accompanied up in the trees, with one adult supervising three children. Ten- and eleven-year-olds may be supervised from the ground, where one adult can watch up to six children. From twelve it works alone with parental consent.
