What makes Kletterwald Taunus special

The site lies in the Taunus north of Frankfurt and is an obvious day out for the Rhine-Main area. It is run by Forest Adventures, who operate several climbing forests in Hesse.

Two conditions apply at the same time: at least five years old and at least 120 cm tall. Height alone is not enough.

The colours decide who may go where. Green and blue from five, red from eight – and from ten those courses may be tackled without an adult alongside. That grading is clearer than a blanket age limit and can be worked out before you set off.

The companion rule is strictly worded: anyone who needs an adult companion must have that person next to them on the course. Watching from the ground is explicitly not enough. One adult may accompany at most two children.
