What makes Monkey park Pec pod Sněžkou special
The park sits in the middle of Pec pod Sněžkou, right by the reservoir and next to the Relaxpark toboggan run. It is built on tough mountain spruces on the left bank of the Úpa.
The way in is the attraction. You start on a tower and first travel 70 metres across the reservoir – only then does the circuit with its 28 obstacles begin. The other way round from almost everywhere else.
The children's park has river crossings of its own: two zip lines of 30 metres each over the Úpa, plus 15 obstacles. It is not a watered-down version of the big circuit but a site in its own right.
Children are belayed by hand. The operator describes this as part of the experience: under the instructors' eyes the children learn to move their own carabiners across. Anyone expecting a continuous belay should know that.
Below 140 cm the big circuit is off limits. That is why there is no child rate for it – the 350 Kč buys the small circuit, not discounted access to the big one.
About a third of the site has been renewed, with new obstacles.
It opens daily from 9 am to 8 pm – the operator names no season. As the park belongs to SkiResort Černá hora – Pec, whose summer operation ends in autumn, a call in advance is worth it in the winter half of the year.
