Parco Avventura Miniera Sant'Aloisio
Collio (Val Trompia) · Lombardia · from 140 cm
Rope course through the old processing plant of an iron mine in Val Trompia – largely under cover, with a continuous belay line and a zip line more than 30 metres above the stream.
What makes Parco Avventura Miniera Sant'Aloisio special
This course does not hang in trees but in the buildings of the disused Sant'Aloisio iron mine near Collio in upper Val Trompia (province of Brescia). You follow the route the ore once took: up a long tunnel, through the washing plant and finally through the roasting kilns – over Tibetan bridges, beams, ropes, walkways and ladders. As most of the plant is roofed, the course stays pleasant even on hot days.
Safety comes from a continuous belay line: the carabiner is clipped in at the start and can only be released at the end with a key carried by the rescue staff. Everyone receives a helmet and a harness with lanyard, carabiners and pulley, followed by a briefing from instructors. The operator has the course inspected by professionals every year.
The finale is a zip line more than thirty metres high across the Valdardo stream back to the start. If you like, combine the course with a guided tour of the mine tunnels (2.5 km, with helmet lamp); there is a combined ticket for that. The mine belongs to the Ski-Mine group, which also runs the Marzoli mine in Pezzaze and the Gaffione mine in Schilpario.
