Payerneland Tower
Payerne · Vaud · from age 4
A 20-metre ropes course tower in the Payerneland leisure park in Payerne – three floors of courses at three difficulty levels, an 18-metre Big Jump, a giant slide and a rooftop terrace.
What makes Payerneland Tower special
Payerneland in Payerne is best known for its karting track; the leisure park also has trampolines, mini jeeps, bumper boats and a pool. There used to be a classic treetop rope park here. It was replaced by a purpose-built tower, which the operator describes as unique in French-speaking Switzerland.
A tower instead of a forest: each of three floors (2 to 4) has three courses – “accessible”, “intermédiaire” and “technique” – and you can switch colour at any point. That way family members of different levels can share parts of the route. From the second floor up you are secured with two karabiners, below with a continuous line. A ninja course with lianas and motor-skill elements is open from eight.
The highlights: the Big Jump on the fourth floor is an 18-metre leap into the void with a braked landing. A 22-metre giant slide runs through the whole tower, and at the very top there is a rooftop terrace with a bar, lit up on summer evenings.
Good to know: open from March to November, only in fine weather – the operator recommends calling ahead. When it rains, children can switch to the indoor courses at Laurapark.
