What makes Kletterpark Detmold special
Three is the lowest age limit to be found in North Rhine-Westphalia. The three Bambini courses are sites of their own with helmet and harness; the accompanying adult stays on the ground and needs no ticket.
The colour scale is unusually finely graded. Green sits one metre up and serves to practise with the carabiners. Blue follows at four to six metres, yellow at five to eight ending in a zipline, red at six to eight with a ride on the surfboard. Purple brings a 40-metre zipline ten metres up, and black is the expert course at twelve metres.
That lets you measure out the afternoon precisely: stop after yellow and you have still done three grades.
Every ticket is 2 € cheaper online than at the desk. The annual pass is valid in Detmold and Bielefeld — 231 € for adults, 198 € for children up to eleven. At a day rate of 30 € it pays off from the eighth visit.
The park sits at the Hermann monument in the Teutoburg Forest. There is a season break from November to March.
