What makes Kletterturm Frutigresort special

The tower stands in the adventure park of the Frutigresort (campsite, hotel and restaurant) on Sportweg in Frutigen, at the entrance to the Kander valley. It originally stood at the Sillerenbühl top station in Adelboden and was moved to Frutigen. The operator calls it the only climbing tower of its kind in the Bernese Oberland.

64 stations on three levels, for up to 90 people at once and with different levels of difficulty. Equipment and a briefing by staff are included in the roughly two-hour ticket. In the lower part there is a separate course for children aged 4 to 8.

At the top a 20-metre panorama platform looks out over the Frutig valley; according to the operator it flies the largest free-hanging Swiss flag. The platform is free for all visitors during opening hours.

Good to know: regular opening is only on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and the tower may stay closed in bad weather. Groups of 10 or more can book special openings in advance.

Season 2026

The operator gives Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm as regular hours, but no season dates; from 25 September to 18 October 2026 it opens daily from 1 to 5 pm. The tower may stay closed in bad weather. Groups of 10 or more can climb outside these hours if booked in advance (minimum spend CHF 200).
