What makes Triton's Park special
The park lies at around 1,000 metres on Monte Oggioli near Monghidoro in the Bolognese Apennines, on the border with Tuscany. It takes its name from a pond where newts (“tritoni” in Italian) live. For more than ten years it has been run by the Bologna social cooperative La Carovana, which has worked with children and young people for over 40 years – the instructors are also trained educators.
Seven courses, described in detail: Yellow 1 and Yellow 2 for children (no higher than 1.60 and 2.30 m), green up to 4.20 m, blue up to 7 m, orange between 7 and 8 m with a 60-metre zip line, red at 5 to 6 m with a 50-metre slide and black at 10 m, finishing on a 120-metre zip line. Safety uses double carabiners, the new pulleys have triple safety, and staff were trained by mountain guides.
The ticket is valid for two hours, while the picnic areas with barbecue and the surrounding woods are free. By bus (lines 906 and 918 from Bologna) plus a half-hour walk, the park can be reached without a car.

The operator still publishes the 2025 schedule: May by reservation only, June and July at weekends, August Friday to Sunday (in 2025 also daily from 8 to 17 August), September at weekends, October by reservation, each 10 am to 7 pm with last entry at 5 pm. Dates for 2026 are not on the website. Groups of 15 or more any day by reservation.
