What makes Waldkletterpark Velbert special

The climbing maze exists in this form only here — a net maze up to 13 metres high which the operator describes as unique in Germany. It is part of the children's course, with 30 minutes on top of the regular climbing time.

Eight courses from green to black make up the Adventure area: over 100 climbing elements, ziplines up to 150 metres, two Tarzan jumps, the banana jump, the Xtreme course and the catapult swing.

Access depends on height: 105 cm for the children's course, 140 cm for Adventure. The ages of four and ten are recommendations; what gets measured is height.

Climbing time is generous — four hours on the Adventure course, and on the children's course 90 minutes plus 30 minutes in the maze. You pay on site, and there are no cancellation fees.

The grounds hold the climbing bistro "Das Baumhaus" with a beer garden and a minigolf course. The park lies between Wuppertal and Essen in Velbert-Langenberg.
