What makes Abenteuerpark Betzenstein special

The park has been running since 2006 and sits right by the open-air pool in Betzenstein, Franconian Switzerland. It does not present itself as a pure climbing park but as a leisure park with several stations.

Admission covers more than the courses. Axe throwing, archery, stone slinging and cross boule are included — at other sites these are paid extras or group programmes. If you arrive with teenagers who have had enough after two hours on the ropes, there is still something to do.

The mega ziplines run over the open-air pool and are open from age twelve.

Tickets are sold by duration, not as a flat rate: three, four or five hours. Adults pay 25, 30 or 35 €. That is unusual — most sites sell a fixed price for three hours. If you know your group will stay long, you can plan better here.

Groups of eight or more get 10 per cent off, groups of 20 or more 15 per cent.

Gloves are mandatory and cost 3 € a pair on site. Your own are fine as long as they are not half-finger. Arriving 20 minutes before the briefing saves the rush.

There are no fixed opening hours. In 2026 the park opens mainly at weekends and, during the school holidays, Wednesday to Sunday – and even that is not reliable; in very bad weather it stays shut.
