Erlebniswald Altenmarkt

Altenmarkt im Pongau · Salzburg · from 80 cm

Six courses with 50 stations along the Zauchbach stream, plus a 3D archery range on the same grounds. Entry from 80 cm.

What makes Erlebniswald Altenmarkt special

From 80 centimetres. That is the lowest reach in this directory; only Skypark Schwäbisch Gmünd lets children up as early, while most facilities start at 110 or 130 cm. Up to age nine a companion climbs along; after that children go on their own.

Six courses with 50 stations run along the Zauchbach stream through the wood. You pay by scope, not by age: three courses cost 25 €, four including the zip lines 30 €, all six 35 €. Anyone who only wants a taste does not pay the full price.

There is an archery range on the same grounds. A shooting range to practise on, then a 3D field archery course with 18 stations, taught by ÖBSV-certified instructors. Bring your own equipment and the course is open from 1 May to 31 October, sunrise to dusk, for 10 €. A beginners' via ferrata course is offered as well.

The opening hours are unusual. Outside the high season the site opens only on individual blocks of days set in advance – mostly Friday to Sunday. From 8 July to 11 September it is open daily except Saturdays. Last entry is 90 minutes before closing, so checking the operator's page before setting off really is worth it.

The Erlebniswald is run by the Hölz family, who also run Kletter-Welt Kleinarl.
