What makes Forest Fun Park Zermatt special
The park sits quietly at the upper end of the village on Zen Steckenstrasse, towards the Matterhorn. Zermatt is car-free; you arrive on foot or by electric taxi.
Lots of zip lines: the operator counts more than 110 platforms, 83 obstacles and 25 zip lines. The Big Trail covers five courses – green for beginners with 25 obstacles and 12 zip lines, red high in the treetops, blue made almost entirely of zip lines, black with ten strength-sapping obstacles and brown with six zip lines. The highlight is a 200-metre zip line 30 metres above the ground.
The Kid's Trail is a separate 350-metre purple course with 31 bridges and seven simple zip lines. Throughout the park the continuous Saferoller system keeps everyone clipped in, and children from four can operate it themselves.
To linger: a terrace with deckchairs, snacks and waffles, free lockers and Wi-Fi. Professional photographers take pictures along the way, which you can buy.
