What makes Kletterwald Blankenburg special

You pay by time, not by course. Two hours of climbing are included – stay longer and every half hour started costs a further 5 € per person. The operator points this out explicitly because it differs from sites where you unlock individual routes.

The safety equipment is included and the briefing comes on top of the climbing time. The two hours are therefore not eaten up by the introduction.

Seven courses, a nine-metre climbing wall and a 150-metre zip line – the site is on Nordhangweg in Blankenburg in the Harz.

Only one discount applies. Groups of 15 get 10 % off and groups of 25 get 20 %, and the operator adds in red type that discounts cannot be combined. Groups must also belong to the same organisation – several families together do not count.

Admission is free on your birthday. Two hours, on presentation of valid ID.

Payment is cash only. A sign on the price page puts it beyond doubt: no cards.

Punctuality pays at the car park. Parking is limited to your climbing time; stay beyond it and the operator charges 50 €, immediately and in cash. It is the harshest parking rule we have come across in this directory.
