What makes Kletterwald Garmisch-Partenkirchen special

Garmisch-Partenkirchen needs no introduction — Zugspitze, Partnach Gorge, Olympic ski stadium. The climbing park is the alternative for families who do not want to spend the whole day up in the mountains.

Fifteen ziplines is an unusually high number for a site this size, the longest measuring 90 metres. Together with 130 climbing elements across 13 courses, this is a park you will not finish in three hours.

The grading is finely stepped: one children's course, two for beginners, three intermediate, four advanced, two for experts — plus a partner course that only works in pairs, and a sun terrace for anyone taking a break.

Children up to 14 climb free on their birthday. School classes pay 20 € per pupil and teachers climb along free. Supervised children's climbing has tiered rates from four children upwards.

Open daily from 10 am to 6 pm, last entry at 5:30 pm. Climbing time is three hours, with equipment and briefing included. Current individual prices are published by the operator in their ticket shop.
