What makes Kletterwald Oxenkopf special

The Ochsenkopf is the second-highest mountain in the Fichtel range after the Schneeberg, and a destination in summer as much as in winter. The climbing park sits at its foot in Bischofsgrün.

Three activities for one admission. Archery, axe throwing and tree climbing are all included — at most sites in this directory those would be three separate bookings. For groups with mixed interests that is the practical advantage: anyone who has had enough after two courses heads to the archery range instead of waiting around.

From 13 archery and axe throwing are part of the deal; younger children shoot with suction-cup arrows, which takes the edge off without shutting them out.

The price ladder is finely graded: five age brackets from 5 to 6 years (15 €) up to adults (24 €), plus a separate rate for students, apprentices and seniors. Families of three or more pay 1 € less per person.

School classes have their own scale, from 15 € up to year 4 to 19 € for accompanying adults who climb; two teachers climb free. People with a B-marked disability pass get 2 € off, and their registered companion comes along free.
