What makes Kletterwald Prien special

Prien is the main town on the western shore of the Chiemsee and the departure point for boats to Herreninsel. The climbing park therefore sits where many families already spend a day.

The happy hour is the most interesting part of the pricing. Book 2 hours and 45 minutes before closing and you pay 20 per cent less — for a family of four that adds up to around 20 €. Since regular climbing time is three hours, you give up very little.

From age three children can use the dedicated course, for 14.40 €. That is one of the lowest entry prices among the Bavarian sites in this directory.

Families of three or more and groups from twelve each get 2 € off per ticket. Weekends and public holidays add 1 € — noticeably less than at other sites run by the same operator.

Anyone arriving with several children of different ages will find one of the finer price ladders here: separate rates for the children's course, ages 6 to 10, 11 to 17, and adults.
