What makes Kletterwald Rothenburg special

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is one of the most visited towns in Bavaria — and therefore a place where families start looking for something else after their second walk through the old town. The climbing park is exactly that.

Night climbing is a regular offering here, not a special event. It costs 4 € more than daytime, in every age bracket. It is a different experience from an afternoon session: you see only what the head torch shows, and the forest sounds different.

The season passes are the second thing that stands out. 90 € for children aged five to eight, 110 € up to 15 and 130 € from 16 — that covers the whole season, as often as you like. From the fifth visit it pays for itself, which makes it a real alternative to single tickets for local families.

For school classes there are graded rates from 17 € for year 4 up to 22 € from year 11, valid Monday to Friday. With 20 pupils or more, two teachers climb along free of charge.

Climbing time is two and a half hours. Climbing requires an online booking; last entry is 30 or 60 minutes before closing, depending on the course.
