Waldkletterweg Faistenau

Faistenau · Salzburg · from age 4

Forest climbing trail in the Salzkammergut near Faistenau – a gentle introduction for families.

What makes the Faistenau woodland climbing trail special

The Waldkletterweg is the cheapest climbing park in this directory: 13 € for adults, 11 € for children, helmet included. For comparison – in most Austrian sites a family of four pays three to four times that.

That is possible because the site is built differently. Instead of separate courses, a continuous trail of some 800 metres leads through the forest, with 70 stations graded by colour: 35 on the easy route, 25 on the medium one, 10 on the hard one.

Entry is recommended from age four, under eight only accompanied. The maximum weight is 100 kg.

Two practical points: gloves cost 5 € extra and are a good idea. And well-behaved dogs may come along – hardly any other climbing park allows that.

Open all year, closed in rain, snow or storm. Groups of eight or more can also book outside regular hours. The Salzkammergut summer card, V-Card or SN-Card takes another euro off.
