What makes Waldseilgarten Höllschlucht special
The site lies near Pfronten in the eastern Allgäu, right beside a mountain stream — several ziplines run across it. Twelve courses thread from tree to tree through the gorge.
You can stay here. Sleeping happens either in a portaledge — the hanging platform big-wall climbers use on a rock face — high in a tree, or more comfortably in a tipi by the stream. That is unique among all the sites in this directory and turns an afternoon into a weekend.
The supervision ratio is strict and openly explained: children aged six to nine need an adult who climbs with them, not one standing below. One adult may accompany two, at most three children. The operator states plainly that this is also about keeping things flowing for the other guests.
If the height beats you, you get your money back. The operator puts this in writing: if the fear cannot be overcome after the first course, the admission is refunded or you switch to the 3D archery course. That is a remarkably fair rule for anyone joining in with a fear of heights for the first time.
