Kletterwald Aktivpark Hohenfelden

Hohenfelden · Thüringen · from age 5

Seven courses with 118 elements from two to 15 metres above the Hohenfelden reservoir, with zip lines up to 135 metres. The most expensive adult ticket in Thuringia.

What makes the climbing park at Aktivpark Hohenfelden special

Seven courses with 118 climbing elements, graded from fun through fitness, experience and adventure to risk. The entry course sits at one to two metres so parents can walk alongside their children; at the top the site reaches 15 metres.

Before the first course comes a briefing course with three elements. The half hour for it is added to the 2.5 hours of climbing time rather than taken out of it.

The zip lines run up to 135 metres.

If you do not climb, you pay nothing. Companions enter the grounds free – not a given in this directory, but more common than you might think.

At 30 € the adult ticket is the most expensive in Thuringia, well above the 27.50 € median we calculate across all 167 sites that publish a price. In return the climbing time of 2.5 hours plus briefing is generous, and the family packages bring the per-head price down noticeably: two adults with two children pay 90 € instead of 106 €.

The climbing park is only part of the site. There is also a 3D archery course, adventure golf, a bungee trampoline, a climbing playground and a petting enclosure.

The operator is strict about parking. There is an external, paid car park at the south-eastern end of the reservoir, a seven-minute walk away. Use the forest track instead, or park at the site itself, and you will be fined.
