What makes Kletterwald Gera special
Seven courses, arranged by colour – orange, purple, yellow, green, blue, red and black. Each colour has its own minimum age and minimum height, so at the entrance you can read off exactly what is open to whom.
Heights run from two to 15 metres. The entry course sits at two metres, the middle routes at three to eight, and the black course at twelve to 15 metres.
The black course is open only from age 16. That is one of the highest age limits in this directory – most sites admit even their hardest routes from 13 or 14.
The site is inside the town forest. At Am Martinsgrund in southern Gera, and therefore within the city – like Kletterwald Graz, one of the few sites you can reach without a car.
Group discounts start early. 10 % from 15 people, 20 % from 25. School classes fall outside that rule and pay their own rates between 16 € and 19 € – though not during the holidays.

For children: Access is graded by colour and depends on age and height together – orange from five years and 1.10 m, yellow from seven and 1.20 m, green from nine and 1.40 m, black from 16 and 1.60 m. The purple, blue and red routes sit in between.

Tuesday to Thursday 1 pm to 7 pm, Friday to Sunday 10 am to 7 pm. Monday is normally closed but sometimes open during the holidays – the operator keeps a day-by-day list on the home page. The park stays shut in strong wind or thunderstorms.
