The setting is the Thuringian Sea. The site stands near Saalburg-Ebersdorf above the Bleiloch reservoir, the largest reservoir in Germany.
Payment is cash only. The operator says so on the home page plainly enough that there can be no misunderstanding. Several sites in Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt are the same – a hut in the forest has no card reader.
Opening hours follow the holidays of two states. During the summer holidays of Thuringia and Saxony the site opens daily, outside them only Friday to Sunday. If you are travelling from Saxony, keep an eye on your own holiday calendar.
