Fourteen facilities now show their own pictures

In August we wrote to every operator in the directory and asked for a photo of their facility. Until then most entries showed a neutral drawing – deliberately, so that nobody would mistake someone else's picture for their own site. In the first week of September more answers arrived than ever before: 47 photos for fourteen facilities. That brings the count to 50 of 373 facilities with pictures of their own.

What is in the pictures

The Trabant in the trees. Abenteuerpark Moritzburg has a leopard-patterned Trabant hanging between the trunks. No other facility in the directory has anything like it.

A zipline over the waterfall. Kletter-Welt Kleinarl sent five pictures, one of them showing someone flying across a gorge with a waterfall below.

Mist between the trees. go ruck Waldhochseilpark in Haag am Hausruck included a morning shot unlike anything else we received.

The site from above. Hochseilgarten Düsseldorf sent drone pictures that show the Unterbacher See behind it and the size of the place at a glance.

Pictures also came from Herrenberg, Aschau im Chiemgau, Surwold, Sögel, Hamburg, Oberhof, Brno, Golm in the Montafon, from Almflieger Gerlosstein and from Riedenburg.

Three corrections to our own entries

Photos were not the only thing. Several operators read their entry and showed us mistakes – the more valuable part.

The Almflieger is called Almflieger. We had listed the facility above the Gerlosstein as "Arena Skyliner". The Zillertal Arena put that right; the entry now carries the correct name. We had also written that its prices are not published in a form we could take over – untrue: they are in the ticket shop, which is linked now.

Twelve does not make you an adult. At Waldseilgarten Herrenberg the price column is headed "Erwachsene (ab 12 Jahre)". From that we concluded you count as an adult at twelve there – the lowest threshold in the directory. Misread: from twelve every course is open, and up to eighteen you will as a rule pay the reduced pupil rate.

The Erlebniswald does not belong to the Kletter-Welt. We had written that the Hölz family runs both. Christoph Hölz is the managing director in Kleinarl; the owner there is the tourist board. The sentence is gone.

And what else the operators added

Bad Neuenahr now leads with its mega zipline – 450 metres across the valley and back, 30 metres above the Paradieswiese. Our entry had not mentioned it at all, though it is what sets the park apart.

Oberhof is more than the children's course. Above the KiKANiNCHEN course stands the crystal tower with its 75 obstacles; our entry showed only the lower half of the site.

Riedenburg is a climbing tower, 20 metres high, four levels, 36 stations, plus a free fall and a giant swing – until last week we only said there was a ropes course beside the summer toboggan run.

Surwold and Sögel close on 18 October. Access to the grounds there is barrier-free, the courses are not – the operator made that precise after we asked back, and both entries now say exactly that.
