What makes Kletterwald Bad Marienberg special
The discount for people with disabilities is the largest in this directory. 5 € on presentation of the pass – for comparison, at Kletterwald Hainich it is 1 €. If the pass carries the B marking, the companion climbs free. That is more than a gesture, because it is usually the companion that decides whether a visit is affordable at all. The Kinderland starts at age three and costs 11 €. That makes this one of the few sites in the directory that admits children under five at all.
Access is graded by colour across four age steps – white, yellow and green from six, the high figure-of-eight from nine, orange, red and the light blue partner course from ten, the two black ones from twelve. Alongside age what counts is reach height, not body height.
Spectators enter free, and the adjoining wildlife park costs nothing either.
Booking is required – and online only. The operator states this is compulsory. Turn up on spec and you have no claim to a place.
Opening hours follow the school holidays of North Rhine-Westphalia, not those of Rhineland-Palatinate. During the NRW summer holidays the park opens on Mondays too. The till closes at 5 pm, two hours before the park does.

For children: The Kinderland is open from age three. The high courses start at age six and a reach height of about 1.60 m, accompanied by an adult – first the five white courses plus the yellow and green ones. The high figure-of-eight is added from age nine, the orange, red and light blue partner courses from age ten with an adult accompanying from the ground. The two black courses are open from age twelve and a reach height of 1.80 m.

Outside the holidays Monday and Tuesday are closed, Wednesday to Friday opens 2 pm to 7 pm, and weekends, public holidays and bridge days 10 am to 7 pm. During the North Rhine-Westphalian summer holidays the park opens Monday to Friday from 1 pm to 7 pm. The till closes at 5 pm. Booking is compulsory and possible online only.
