monkeyman Hochseilgarten
Wolfsburg · Niedersachsen · from age 8
Five high ropes courses in Wolfsburg's Allerpark, with a ticket valid for four hours and in practice all day. Chaperones have to climb along.
What makes monkeyman Hochseilgarten special
The chaperone has to go up too. The operator writes it twice and with an exclamation mark: standing below and keeping an eye out is not enough. For eight-year-olds it is one to one, from ten an adult may look after three teenagers. If you cannot find anyone, you can book an instructor at 50 € an hour to take the adult's place.
Four hours, meant as a day ticket. As long as the site is not fully booked, you may climb longer. The operator says so unprompted – an unusually relaxed attitude to the clock.
On site it is cash only. Card payment works exclusively in advance through the ticket shop, and there by debit card, PayPal or credit card.
A severe disability qualifies for the reduced rate of 36 € instead of 39 € – alongside families of three or more, students and pensioners. The reduction is only available at the day desk, though, not online.
Spectators pay nothing and may move freely around the park.
The ABC low ropes course sits at about 1.5 metres, is continuously secured with two carabiners and may be walked unaccompanied after the briefing – with no adult in the course.
The second monkeyman site in Braunschweig's Westpark is closed. The operator writes that the site will stay shut for now; in Wolfsburg operations carry on as normal.
