PirateRock Hochseilgarten
Isernhagen · Niedersachsen · from age 8
28 climbing elements in three grades, 140 metres of zip lines and an abseil station in the Wietzepark near Hanover. Climbing gloves are compulsory.
What makes PirateRock Hochseilgarten special
Climbing gloves are compulsory. They cost 3.50 € on site, and you may bring your own. At most sites in this directory gloves are a recommendation – here you do not get into the course without them.
Three grades with clear limits. Blue covers eight elements at three to four metres, red eleven elements up to seven metres ending in two 70-metre zip lines, and black nine elements up to ten metres with an abseil station. Together that makes 140 metres of zip line.
Easy to reach without a car. From Hanover main station tram line 1 runs to Langenhagen Zentrum, then bus 650 to Isernhagen HB Wietzepark – two minutes on foot from there. There are still 300 free parking spaces.
Climbing goes ahead in rain, snow and low temperatures. Only thunderstorms and gales interrupt it; afterwards you carry on.
There is no food. The operator says it plainly: nothing is for sale in the climbing park, bring a picnic. There are no lockers either.
One of four sites run by Schattenspringer GmbH of Bielefeld – alongside SeaTree at the Steinhuder Meer, TreeRock in the Hochsolling and HanseRock in Hamburg. All of them charge the same rates.
The climbing season runs from March to November. School classes, companies and large groups can book dates outside the season too.
